The past year has seen Kubota announce several news-worthy events including a new president and the sale of their 1.5 millionth unit in America.

The honored unit was sold in July to Jeremy Nafziger. He purchased a Kubota M series ag/utility tractor for his agriculture, commercial and residential excavating business in Pennsylvania.

Selling that many Kubota units in the U.S. is a testament to Kubota engineering and design. Terry Swenson, who has been selling Kubota products for 21 years, said Kubota customers are repeat customers.

"Once they get a piece of it, they keep coming back. They like the Kubota quality and appreciate their reliability," said Swenson, the sales manager at Heart Mountain Farm Supply in Powell, Wyo.

Kubota seems to have a piece of durable equipment for just about any project. They are the industry leader in the under 40-horsepower tractor segment and the new L series is one of the reasons why. This line of smaller tractors offers two- and four-wheel drive models and can deliver 31.9 to 37.4 gross horsepower. These smaller tractors have "all the bells and whistles to help residential home owners complete the task," said Jeremy Coltin, Kubota product manager.

Even though it is a smaller tractor line, the L series can still lift up to 1,490 pounds with a bucket breakout force of 2,462 pounds. Combine it with a backhoe attachment and it can dig down to 92.5 inches.

The M series tractor, which became the 1.5 millionth unit, is a perfect solution for many agriculture operations. It is bigger than the L series but smaller than an industrial sized tractor. When smaller size is needed for maneuvering in corrals or around out buildings, Kubota offers the solution. Their M series offers 43.0 to 135.0 horsepower and is perfect for livestock operations, specialty farming and all-purpose agriculture applications.

Last year Kubota also entered the compact track loader market by introducing their 75- and 90-hp models of the Kubota SVL75/90. These smaller loaders are perfect for cleaning out corrals, hauling gravel and doing the dirty work of many agricultural operations when the "big boys" are out workings the fields.

Kubota also continues to offer a full range of attachments such as tillers, front- or rear-mounted snow blowers, zero-turn mowers, ballast boxes, front loaders, rotary sweepers, blades and excavators. Additionally, Kubota offers gas-powered or diesel-powered engines along with reliability and professional, fast service.

However, the most popular U.S. Kubota produce is their utility vehicle. Known for its side-by-side seats in the cab, Kubota's heavy-duty, high performance RTV Series utility vehicles give power and durability in all types of weather and on a variety of terrain.

They can be ordered with enclosed cabs in steel, soft-side or golf caging features. Front bush guards give extra protection and the cabs are fully equipped for comfort and protection. Each cab is protected by an integrated roll-over protection structure that meets OSHA and SAE protection standards without sacrificing comfort.

Part of that comfort can be found with air conditioners, heaters, radios and sliding glass windows in the doors. Front and rear work lights can also be added to the cab roof for detailed work at night.

The utility vehicles also come with the ability to carry two to four passengers in separate seats for maximum comfort. Hauling cargo is not a problem either with cargo beds in the back. Dumping cargo beds are also an option. When more items need to be hauled, Kubota's RTVs feature Variable Hydro Transmissions for high torque and maximum hauling and towing capabilities.

Of course, Kubota Orange has always been a popular choice for hunters and outfitters but now Kubota has combined with Realtree to provide an RTV with Hardwoods Camouflage, giving owners a rough and rugged look to their utility vehicles. The camouflage looks is proving to be very popular.

Swenson will be heading to an annual meeting with Kubota at the end of October and, at that time, he will be told what Kubota has planned for the coming year. Whether it is a new release or an enhancement to an existing product, one thing is sure, Kubota quality will continue.

"Kubota takes great pride in designing, manufacturing and marketing quality Kubota products that our customers love to operate. We believe Kubota's reputation for offering versatile, dependable, efficient products at a great value, has earned the loyalty of customers across the country," said Greg Embury, Vice President, Kubota Sales and Marketing.

Kubota has shown that pride and improved customer loyalty with all the advances they have made in the last year.
