Montana climate change dialogue set for March 19 in Billings
BILLINGS, Mont. - The Montana Chamber is conducting a “Montana Climate Change Dialogue” from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 19 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Billings, Mont.
The dialogue will feature the release of a new economic study which will analyze the costs consumers and businesses can expect if S. 2191, the “Lieberman-Warner Climate Security Act of 2007,” becomes law. The study is expected to provide details on the impact that S. 2191 will have on residential electricity prices, energy production and use, jobs, and the cost of doing business in Montana for specific sectors of industry.
Dr. Margo Thorning, Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the American Council for Capital Formation will unveil the study. A lunch program will feature Montana’s own Ray Kuntz, Chair of the Board of the American Trucking Association.
“We believe that before lawmakers act on climate change legislation, Montana businesses and families should know how much these proposals will affect their pocketbooks,” said Webb Brown, President/CEO of the Montana Chamber of Commerce.
